Musings about Art

Text

The Reality we all live in is like an iceberg whose tip can be only seen in the occurances of our everyday life. But this reality is only a small section of the very Reality. Behind the events and actions, there are vast forces working, and a sensitive soul is needed to be aware of them.

The Artist's role is to make people see that „the surface chatters, while the deep is silent", that the experiences can be only understood when we think further and seek the inner motivations. The Artist could not be capable of that without seeing him-/herself in third person and the robustness below the surface, and has the capability to point it out. He/She does not see the whole iceberg, either, but knows that there are much deeper planes. When encountering the question „What is Truth?”, he/she does not give a sealed, fix answer, but says: „Keep seeking to reveal it!”

And he/she has to do this originating from the visible reality, for if he/she gets deep, but has nothing to show for those who do not see below the surface at all, will not reach his/her aim. Therefore, when applying the artistic implements, he/she must rely on the empirical world, the physical, physiological and psychological laws. And must not forget though that these are only a way to reach the artistic goal.
